What Is a PPO Plan, and How Does It Differ From HMO/EPO?
A PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plan offers more flexibility in choosing healthcare providers and specialists without needing referrals. Unlike HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) or EPO (Exclusive Provider Organization) plans, PPOs generally allow you to see any doctor, including out-of-network providers, usually at a higher cost, while HMOs and EPOs require you to stay within a specific network and often require referrals for specialists.
Are Your Plans Available Outside of Florida?

What Are the Biggest Differences Between These Types of Insurance Plans?
ACA/Obamacare
Best for those with pre-existing conditions or those needing maternity coverage. It is affordable if you are under the income threshold that qualifies you for government subsidies. If you aren't getting government assistance, it is extremely expensive. These plans are mostly high premium/high deductibles because anyone can get on them.
Employer Plans
Usually a good option for the employee due to a percentage off cost paid for by the employer. The downside is that the employer is not responsible for paying anything towards family add-ons. This causes the price to jump up significantly when adding family members and can get pretty costly because the family will be paying full price to be added to the plan.
Private Insurance
Offers a wider variety of options for the consumer. These can be especially cost-effective for relatively healthy, low-risk individuals. Most private plans are PPOs, allowing you access to more providers nationwide and BETTER coverage.
What Are Health Insurance Prices Based on?
Public Marketplace/ACA/Obamacare plans
Based on income, zip code, and age. If you don't qualify for government subsidies, they can be very expensive.
Private plans
Based on age, zip code,, and your specific health needs. Don't assume every health plan will be fully comprehensive and protect you in an emergency. Short-term, Limited Benefit and Cost Sharing plans can leave you financially exposed and have limited coverage. We specialize in full coverage plans that are priced based on your specific needs.
Do I Only Have the “Open Enrollment” Period to Be Able to Set Up Private Insurance?
No. Private insurance is available year round! Only the Public Marketplace/ACA/Obamacare plans have a specific enrollment period of November 1-December 15. However, both private and government plans can be cancelled at ANYTIME of the year, allowing you flexibility to switch plans if you find something better!
Is Private Health Insurance Really Expensive?
No, it's much less expensive than you think. Rates for private insurance are individualized and NOT based on your income. Generally, private plans offer clients significantly lower prices and better coverage compared with full-price government options.
Will Private Plans Cover Me Anywhere I Go?
Yes! Nationwide coverage, on and off the job. Most private plans are PPO plans that will cover you nationwide. We always review the coverage area regardless of which plan you choose.
Do You Only Work With Health Insurance? What About Dental, Vision, etc.?
No! I can also write policies for dental, vision, life, supplemental, critical illness, accident, disability, etc. I have many trusted referral partners, so I am happy to guide you to one of them if you need something I can’t help with.
